Stephen Pace, Founder As founder and principal of Pace Development Group, Inc. over 30 years ago, Stephen Pace has become one of the most well respected and accomplished developers throughout the region. After receiving a degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1965 he began his career with accounting firm Haskins & Sells. Throughout his career, he has utilized his financial experience and extensive construction knowledge to successfully manage the completion of well over 15,000 single-family and multi-family home sites located in a variety of different neighborhoods located throughout North and South Carolina. For this reason, he has successfully become one of the leading developers throughout the Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus and Iredell County areas around Charlotte as well Greenville County in South Carolina. His influence as a leader in the land development industry has also been exhibited throughout his career as he continues to serve actively in a variety of industry related leadership and advisory related capacities as well. In 2005, he served Union County on their 2025 Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. He also served on the Western Union County Local Area Regional Transportation Plan Steering Committee as well as on the Town of Waxhaw Architectural Standards Steering Committee. He has served tirelessly for well over 20 years on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities Department Developer Liaison Committee. This organization provides advice and support to the largest local municipal water and sewer authority in the State of NC. He has also served actively on the City of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County Subdivision Steering Committee, which serves as a stakeholder group of development and planning professionals whom help to steer the City of Charlotte in regards to development planning. Stephen also recently spent over two years serving on the appointed subcommittee for the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County in the development and adoption of their current Erosion Control Ordinance. This ordinance has received State wide recognition as one of the most effectively and environmentally conscious ordinances developed by a local municipality. Stephen is a member of the REBIC Board of Governors and the Charlotte Home Builders Association as well. Stephen has also received multiple awards relating to his industry supportive work. Of significance would be his recipient in 1998 of the Distinguished Builder Service Award on behalf of the Charlotte Home Builder Association. He has also received numerous accolades for his work with Habitat for Humanity over the years as well. In his free time, Stephen has served as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 118 in Charlotte, NC for 40 years. He is the recipient of a variety of local and national awards including the Silver Beaver Award and also was inducted in 2010 to National Scouting Hall of Fame for his remarkable service as leader of scouts. He also currently serves on the Executive Board of the Mecklenburg County Council of Scouting as well.
Brian Pace Brian Pace is one of the principals in Pace Development Group, Inc. and has served in the construction and development industry for twenty years. After earning his BS in Civil Engineering from NC State University in 1991, Brian went on to pursue a career in construction in Washington, DC with Centex Construction. In 1994, he became a NC licensed general contractor and moved back to NC to join Pace Development Group in the land development business. Pace Development is recognized as one of the leading single and multi-family lot development companies in the region. Over the past 20 years, Pace Development has produced some of the area's fastest growing neighborhoods such as Hunter Oaks, Brandon Oaks, Lawson and Skybrook. Aside from working in the development business, Brian has served tirelessly in a variety of leadership capacities as a member of the Homebuilders Association of Charlotte. Most recently, in 2008, he served as the President of the 1200 member organization. Under his years of leadership at the HBAC, he also helped to form the first Homebuilders Care Council, oversaw the formation of the Green Building Council, managed the successful "Charlotte Between the Lines" public relations campaign, and helped to successfully guide the association through one it's most challenging years. He is most proud to have watched the Homebuilders Care council, build several Habitat for Humanity Homes, from 1999 to 2002, help construct the "Classroom Central" project of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and has continued to perform a wide variety of other charitable building service projects through the years. In 2003 he served as the Homearama Committee Chair at High Gate and in 2002 served as the SPPACE Committee Chair. Brian has also been very active at the state level by serving active roles at the NCHBA. He is currently serving as a member of the NCHBA Executive Board as well as the 2010 Chairman for NCHBA Land Development Council. In 2002, Brian was the recipient of the Charlotte Homebuilder Association's "Distinguished Builder of the Year" award. In 2001, he was named one of the Charlotte Business Journal's "40 under 40." Brian was appointed in 2000 by the Mecklenburg County Commission to serve on the Environmental Protection Commission. And most recently he is serving as a member of Charlotte Habitat for Humanity's Builder Blitz committee. He has also been very active at his home church and has spent over 9 years leading the music for a morning worship services. Brian is also a proud father of three children and remains very active in leadership roles at each of their school PTA organizations.
David Faulkner David Faulkner serves as one of the principals and project managers at Pace Development Group, Inc.. He has served actively in the construction and engineering industry for twenty years. He began his career after graduating in 1992 with a degree in Civil Engineering from NC State University. While in school, he was also a member of the honor fraternity, Chi Epsilon. Upon graduation, David began his career in construction with The Hardaway Company, based out of Columbus, GA. While with Hardaway, he worked in the Heavy Civil Division as a field and project engineer on large scale bridge, road and seaside construction projects located up and down the east coast. Of particular interest, he had the opportunity to serve as one of the project engineers, which oversaw the construction of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge replacement project through the years of 1995-1997. He also spent several years working on several other heavy civil engineering projects located along the coast of SC and Florida. In 1998, he relocated to Charlotte to work for a family owned commercial flooring business by the name of Re-Source, NC. In 2000, David was asked to join Pace Development Group where he is now a principal. While at Pace, David has served as a project manager as well as provided engineering support for a variety of residential and multi-family projects. David is an active member of the Home Builders Association of Charlotte and also serves on the Land Development Council. David is married with two children. He enjoys spending his free time coaching baseball, serving his church and participating in a variety of outdoor activities. |
